picked up the gt3 with the new RS wing today (+crappy pic) ...
- wife's first statement was, "why did you do that, it doesn't look as good"
- guys at the body shop, "oh my god, it looks fantastic"
- so, different strokes for different folks
- the stock white gt3 with the stock wheels clearly has an amazing factory look - for those that track your car, the dark rims with the RS wing with black tips looks menacing
- thought i would also do some measurements and see how the wing areas compare:
- GT3 wing has an area of 450sq inches and is adjustable from stock location to stock + 4degrees to stock +8degrees
- the RS wing has an area of 660sq inches and is adjustable from stock location to stock +15 degrees - it also has a much more concave shape and in the stock position has the leading and trailing edges at basically a zero angle to the horizon unlike the GT3 whose smaller wing has a sight positive angle (the wing shape is not consistant) in the stock location
- so basically the RS wing is 50% bigger by area, the more convex shape in itself will generate more negative lift if I remember my physics correctly and it can be placed at an angle that is 2X as large as the stock GT3 wing
- previously, I have always run my GT3 with the full wing as I wanted to have as much rear end grip while the car and I became acquanted on the track
- I have 5 trackdays coming up, Calabogie Thursday, Mosport with the Upper Canada Region September 21/22 and Tremblant at the end of the month so I will attempt to see if I can perceive any difference with the wing and wing angles
- i'm still awaiting deliver of the front RS extension piece, won't make it for Calabogie but if it does anything it will likely be more obvious at Mosport later this month (I'm still suspicious that the RS wing in anything but it's stock position will very likely need the Cup front splitter for added downforce on the front end)
- still left for the car is to re-gear it down to a 165mph top end (this is going to be a bigger project for winter time) and then trying to find a way to wife approve remove 150#s out of the car (battery is easy, exhaust if it isn't too loud for today's tracks)

I think it looks great , as is does on the 996.
" Tremblant at the end of the month" - I guess you're doing the Audi event. Amaist and I will both be instructing at the event if you need any local knowledge of the track .

Nice addition!! I went with the white end plates. Yours work better with the black wheels.

I think the Rays wheels make it look very aggressive. You also may want to consider painting the mirrors black. I will post photos when I get back from Miller Motorsports track this weekend.

I think that it looks great. The color combo with the wheels are right on. However, it does appear that the leading edge of the wing is up. Could this have been installed backward?
