I have driven a flash car back to back with my stock car. The car did have a specific flash for the exhaust upgrade. Considerable difference in mid range torque. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!

With europipe exhaust, BMC intake filter, stock (but catless ) headers, Evoms software tuned for 105 octane gas, I got 35whp/40wtq gains form 3.7k rpm to 6k rpm, and about 14whp/20wtq from 6k rpm to 8.5k rpm, on a dynojet sae corrected. About $2000 in all, and definitely worth it. To put it in perspective, my 997.2 GT3 is dead even with a 997.1 turbo that put down 516whp/536wtq sae corrected (on the same dynojet). From 35mph (1st gear) to 170mph, Id be ahead by 1 car length. From 50mph (2nd gear) to 170mph, he'd be ahead by one car length. The difference of the 2 runs came into play, only after 150mph. I wonder how much the additional downforce of the GT3, hindered it at those speeds. Those you may not see much HP gains at the peak rpm compared to the low-mid range, the overall gains really make a huge difference in the acceleration performance.

Here is a vid of my GT3 Vs a tuned jb3 335i (420whp/400+wtq) on 103 race gas. The 335i has all upgrades available, except upgraded turbos. Done in a private road:

3.5 car lengths by 150mph, about 5.5 car lengths (maybe 6) by 170 mph.
It makes sense that 335i would need a 100whp/100wtq more, like the 997.1 modded turbo had, in order to close the gap in the vid.
