While waiting for a new "control module" or some other electronic bit to come into the dealer for repair of mine, I got to take her out to the track this weekend. It was glorious weather for November in NorCal!

One of the problems of my car is that as soon as I turn on the car, the lift goes up. Naturally, I was lowering it before going on the track, but of course the light on the dash still stays on - despite the whoosh sound when I attempt to lower it. I noticed that when I was going above 90mph, a new warning light I'd never seen before came on in the dash pod. This one is red and seems more threatening.

I didn't have a great day, as far as fast lap times, as I was somewhat shaken in my confidence due to the possibility that the lift was up and mucking with aero of the car. But, that was probably not the case. I think I just had a off day - but still a great day, as I drove her home in the same condition that I arrived in! Keep the shiny side up!!

I do get occasionally the lift stuck on when I park the car (it won't go down). Another issue (don't know if that is important) is that with the lift on, if I use full lock on the steering I get all sort of noises (clicks/cracks...)...

Default Update

The dealer replaced the "control module" or some other electronic bit, and all is right with the world now. Happy again and confidence on the track has been restored!

Reviving this thread.

I get problems with mine all the time. 50/50 on if I hear the "swoosh" sound when it deactivates, the button doesnt work all the time. Have to exceed 37 mph for it to go dowN.

But now it just doesnt work at all. When I press the button, it lights up, but nothing happens. Really annoying....

Go talk to your dealer, there is a campaign on these. Should be a warranty fix.

Hey Savy, can you elaborate? Are they doing a recall to replace or are they prone to leaks? Mine has been faultless but I've only got about 15 months of warranty left... Wouldn't want to shell out the big bucks the week afta waranty expires

There isn't an official TSB for this (at least for Asia) but it's a well known problem. The lift pump is located next to the radiator lines between the footwells. Over time the pump gets cooked. PAG supposedly came up with a new part that's more durable. Mine got replaced three months after delivery when then lift failed altogether (before that it did the "extended erection" thing for a while and wouldn't come down on its own, like the other posters mentioned... heck, I should stop putting those blue pills into the gas...)

Chris- issues with the pressure sensors. Sounds like you got a good one

Mine worked fine 95% of the time, otherwise priapism...

After the issues I had with mine and many trips to the dealer, they finally replaced it under warranty, has worked perfectly ever since. It's actually a really cool system when it works properly.

As for the whoosh on going down, it doesn't always do this but that's not a problem with the system. Remember also it won't go down until the light on the dash comes on and you can't lower it with the driver door open.
