I live just S of the city on the coast in Pacifica where it can get socked in...rained steadily most of last wknd & has threatened a few times this week with a few drizzles, but nothing significant. Y'all seem locked into a system up there. ...but then again you have much better driving roads as well, which I bet can be fun in the rain as long as its not coming down too hard... : )

Awesome that a self proclaimed group of misfits comprised of no real "superstar" type players came together like that to do it! Baumgartner, Lincecum, & Wilson were all lights out for the past couple games, shutting down the most potent offense in baseball this season in their stadium. Combine that with excellent coaching decisions by Bochy & his staff + timely hitting, and the Giants won it for the first time since moving to SF!

U look at the whole season everyone(players and the higher ups) contributed to the stellar season. U have to give props to Jonathan Sanchez- he got us over the hump over San Diego last game of the regular season. Kudos to the whole Giants organization where TEAM effort in all levels makes this season oh so sweet!!! Mike

My congratulations to the Giants for their well-deserved victory. If it couldn't be the Phils, it's still the NL (sorry, CJ!) I'm sure SF feels like we felt in Philadelphia in 1980, with the first World Series in 30 years and the first championship ever. The 1993 WS and 2008 championship were sweet but nothing like the euphoria of 1980. As to the "no superstars" team, didn't Lincecum win a couple of Cy Youngs? Won't Posey get rookie of the year? Let's not get carried away with the rhetoric.

^it's relative to team roster. Compared to other teams we are definitely below in superstar quantity vs other teams ESP who've we played in the postseason. Take Texas- I don't believe we been favored in any game. Mike
