Porsche has sold out...
All their GT2 RS's.
ATLANTA - October 20, 2010 - The 911 GT2 RS, the fastest and most powerful road-going sports car Porsche has ever built, is not only an ultra-high-performance car on the road, but it is also just as fast from a sales standpoint.
With its worldwide debut less than two months ago at the Moscow Auto Show, this limited-edition 620-horsepower 911 has already secured customer commitments for all 500 units to be built. Here in the U.S., Porsche has pre-sold 133 911 GT2 RS cars, all of which will be delivered to eager owners in February 2011.

I'm not so sure the dealer "bluff" is on the table. Porsche NA has gone to some lengths to be sure the buyer bona fides are not flippers or opportunistic speculators. I would guesstimate more than half these cars will travel directly from port to private collections and garages. A handful will be destroyed on the road by their over-zealous owners and a few will be seen in public or on the track. I think there was some sort of disconnect that lead to customers not being as aware of the GT2 RS as perhaps Rennlisters knowing weeks and months ahead of the general public. Once the word of the initial "oops, you're too late, but there are some cars still open to orders" transpired, it seems that real buyers came in and pushed their way onto the train like Japanese commuters ... and not because people with white gloves were pushing them like sheep into the slaughter house truck ... I hope.

My dealer said that this order process for the GT2RS was a real pain in the *** for him.

In the last three months I have been offered a GT3 RS at MSRP and a GT3RS at MSRP from the same dealer. This economy has not been kind to me otherwise I would have one or both of these cars in my garage soon!!

I'm pretty sure Porsche will try to slip a "not for export" piece of paper in front of buyers on "the big day" ... I think it would be interesting for the customer to politely decline this "request" on their part and see if they yank the car out from underneath them.

I wonder if this link works:
http://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/se...AfterCreation=
Some of the ad's read as if the car is already built.
I thought the USA cars were arriving in February. Do Euro customers get theirs months earlier?
