V-1 with directions are best. Its boxy and looks dated but the arrows really work. The only thing better is flashing federal credentials.......and you keep on rooooooll-n

V1 was great right up until it was stolen in a smash and grab. I went to a concealed K40 and I have never looked back.

I've always used a V1 even though it looks like I have a VCR mounted to the windshield...

I happen to know the owner so I can probably get you a deal.

I've tested the K40 laser jamming capability. It is worthless. Be careful because the emperor has no clothes Don't know as much about their radar protection.

I got "tagged" with laser again this morning on the drive to work. However, the cop was very sneaky. He didn't fire the gun until AFTER I had passed him, so he tried to tag me from the rear. However, the 9500ci jammer immediately came on and I was under the speed limit anyway, so all was good.

Moral of the story: watch out for laser! There is no defense except jamming.

I think so I hated the wire going to the ashtray. It was always in the way. Jenk the Hardwire is fairly easy to do. Takes about a hr to complete and it is hidden excet at the rear view mirror for my application.

[Hmmm. I would have to strongly dissagree on that statement.

These states different

Believe whatever you want. If you're happy that's all that matters. You state that you know it works? How? Have you personally tested it again police LIDAR?

However the truth of it is that the K40 is an overpriced marketing gimmick sold by dealers. Did you get your car Xylon'd too?

I've actually gone out with 7 different police laser units. The K40 does not work. I repeat, it does not work. They don't even use laser diodes. It was almost comical how quickly the laser punched through. Almost as if the car had no counter measures at all.

K40 is a marketing machine. That's what they do best. They sue websites that contradict their claims to keep everyone's mouth shut. Again, I can't speak for their radar capability. Never tested it. I can speak out about their laser jamming capability and it sucked. Speed at your own risk with a K40. Maybe they'll pay the ticket but you'll still have the points and the insurance hikes for the next 3-5 years.

I'll put my money on the V1 and laser interceptor, or any other jammer that uses actual diodes and not LED's. And if you think for a minute that one head in a license plate frame is going to cover your front end you're sorely mistaken...

FWIW, I use to be a laser/radar operator. We didn't aim at the plate. You aim at the headlights despite what the K40 site says.

Are you talking about this new "360" model? I too have heard pretty much only negative comments from owners of the K40 (and it's not uncommon to see them left in the car ... even at $3K, if they don't work, they're not worth paying the installer $250 to move it to the next car, I guess ...)

I had a K-40 installed by a custom audio place in my 1999 996. It was worthless. It falsed so much, I just turned it off. I bought a V1 and did the remote install myself. Never had reason to move until I started driving in MD with their laser equipped State Troopers and speed cameras all over the place. Had a 9500ci installed in a 2008 S5 and loved it. Saved me multiple times against laser and speed cameras. I was so happy it with, I had it installed in my SUV and my 2011 RS is going in on Saturday for the same. I swear by it and the GPS and weekly database updates can't be beat.

The gps feature on the escorts is pretty cool. If I wasn't so enamored with the v1 arrows, I would probably switch.

I'll let this go after I make a final point or two.

I am a LEO. I used to run traffic details. Its safe to say that I know or thing or two about police speed measurement. Nuff said on that.

You can post a 100 links to used celebrity cars. Most of these people get their products for free and or have so much money that they rely on the dealer to put whatever in there. I have a friend that does mostly celebrity car audio installs. They don't spend a whole lot of time spec'ing equipment....

For that matter, you can continue to post 1000 you tube links. However, the fact of the matter is that you've never tested your unit. You have no idea if it works or not. I on the other have tested the K40 Along with groups of other enthusiasts. The same conclusion is come to every time. The K40 laser jamming is a joke. I've seen it personally. Until you have seen it otherwise yourself, you might want to downgrade your fanboy enthusiasm. I know you want to feel good about the product that the dealer talked you into, but seriously... Go get it tested. And not the "I was speeding and I didn't get pulled over test...". Go get a LIDAR unit and test your unit on your car.

That's great they pioneered the diffusers. Ford built the Model T. However, neither you nor I are posting in the Mustang forum now are we?
