I imagine they just flipped it on speculation to make some quick dealer money. I certainly don't mean to suggest there's anything untoward, I'm only asking about the details.
Personally, I dislike the registry idea since it leads to this kind of confusion and potentially incorrect or misleading facts being gathered and then published without accountability.

I've been mentioning here since 2007 to send me any updates or corrections to the gt3rsregistry, and it's also stated at the bottom of the main VIN page.
Since the car was being sold with 1850 miles on eBay by canepa, I listed the buyer as the second owner. If there's any mistakes or missing details, just let me know and I'll update the page.

Max Power, the registry info is mostly correct. The biggest issue is you NEED A DIRECT EMAIL LINK on the site to send you info. Its too much of a pain to log onto a forum, find you, then private message, after having to sign up for the site as a user. You have missed out on a ton of data from me alone because its not easy enough. Please change it, the site is great but its value is comprosimed by this oversight. I have not looked in a while, if you changed it then great and disregard.
