It's not overpriced at all compared to its true competition - 458, 599, etc., most of which are slower and costlier.

It remains quite curious to me that Porsche fans automatically assign lower value to our cars because it's "only" a Porsche, 911, etc.; I see no reason why a Ferrari is intrinsically worth more at any given level of performance, given the superior reliability and proven winning design of Porsches.

overpriced or not, I don't think I will pay more than GT3/RS money for any sport cars for a while. I do not have the skills to exceed the potential of my RS or any current GT3s anyway. Spending more on another expensive car for me will be totally for bling factor only.

if u got the money, why not?

from a collector's point of view, got an extra room? buy it. lock it down. the value may go up in 15, 20 years. who knows? that means if u don't give a sh*t about its value. cuz it's gonna take a dive within few years.

now if u're a avg owner who just want to have the god of all 911 to drive, i don't see the point spending 270k for a 911. from that point of view, it's overpriced. it's overpriced not because of its MSRP of $245k. it's overpriced that Porsche still makes u pay for some stupid small things such as paint, battery, cf fenders... the list goes on.

Definitely not ridiculous. I would take one over a McLaren or a 458 in a heart beat. Not even close. And the car can lap the Ring in 7'18" (smoking fast)! Agree that from a collector's point of view, it may be one to keep (even if short-term, value may fall a bit). Who knows if Porsche will ever produce another street car that is this is this fast/powerful . . . not even the 918 Spyder apparently will be as quick around the Ring.

Why? Elaborate a little. I think I know the answer, but want to hear from you.

me personally just a bigger fan of NA engine. turbo hp is easy to achieve. would u rather take a NA 612hp V10 or a turbo 620hp F6 from Porsche?

I completely agree. The GT2(RS) is just a glorified turbo with lightweight components, better suspension, and more boost. If the GT3RS were able to achieve this power output via a normally aspirated engine then the cost is well worth it.

Why do some people place the Ferrari in another category besides the bling factor? Well the engine is normally aspirated. It's kinda of a no brainer to get the fcar over the GT2RS. just like a previous poster stated so clearly, there wasn't much R&D needed for the 2RS. It Porsche squeezing the last dollar out of the 997 chassis and GT1 block.

Wouldn't things like maintenance costs and insurance favor the Porsche over the F-car?
