Default GT3 RS wing on a 997.1 GT3

OK.....I have exhausted my search ability

I am considering installing a 997.1 GT3 RS wing on my GT3.

What parts from my wing can be reused and what new parts do I have to buy? From what I can tell all I need to buy is a wing an decklid (all other pieces remain)

my bud here in CA did it.
you need the deck and the winglet and wing blade. the electrical stuff can be reused.

at the current rip off prices, maybe get a cup car wing?

take a look at leigh2's avatar. that car was a 997.1GT3.

Either that or a Mk 2 wing/decklid/airbox!

I did the same conversion. You will also need a new RS hydraulic strut. The one off the GT3 is too long and your trunk lid with the RS wing will open all the way and hit your rear window. Really.

I wondered why this was happening on my new to me GT3 with RS wing - will be getting RS strut. Thanks!

Here are the part numbers of everything you need:

997 505 996 90 R RS Front lip

997 512 225 94 R Rear deck lid
997 512 165 92 R Rear wing
997 512 635 90 GRV wedge
997 512 636 90 GRV wedge
999 703 019 40 R lid
997 512 443 90 R gasket
999 624 056 01 blower
997 512 435 92 R scoop
997 512 436 92 R scoop

The parts will need to be painted. Sunset Porsche seems to be selling it as a package for $10.5k now.

What parts are existing (can be reused from old lid) and what parts are new?

These are all of the additional parts you have to buy. All others can be re-used. Call Sunset Porsche. They seem to have one set in stock.

Yes pay 10k for oem or pay 4k and use the cargraphics rear RS wing instead.

This is not mentioned but would you consider a .2 GT3 wing? There is one for sale at another forum for $6.5k OBO. I don't know what color your car is but the one for sale is white. It will be a direct swap with your decklid, no modification required

I don't want to get in trouble so if you're interested, shoot me a PM and I'll say which forum it is. I have no affiliation with the seller.

I saw that one (BR racing)......like the old RS wing better

I do not believe the 997.2 GT3 wing is a direct swap for a 997.1 GT3

I hear you on the .1 RS wing.

I think it is a direct swap. Both .1 and .2 GT3's have the intake scoop on the right side (unlike .2 RS).

For the price range there is not much options. You can purchase a more expensive one and then sell your OEM decklid. Here are some options:

-MA Shaw
-Cargraphic
-Vorsteiner
