I've got a better idea- just get a boxster spyder. it gives you an open cockpit thrill ride, sounds cool, and has a different driving dynamic than all the other cars considered. plus it's about 30k cheaper than the RS.1 and 70k cheaper than the RS.2

chicks dig convertibles too- so maybe your wife would enjoy rides with you now and then

Fully agreed. If I wasn't a Track Rat, my RS would be a waste of money. I will be crucified for saying this but if you own and don't track an RS you are posing and the car is wasted in your garage.

The Spyder is an AWESOME car, I LOVE mine and it is very fast on a track but handles street driving SO much better than an RS. It looks great and there is a front and back storage trunks.

The new Turbo is a hell of a car and I would love one if I had one, but would not really want to track it on a regular basis.

All just one man's opinion, ultimately it is your money to spend. I am also hearing the uptake by buyers on the new 2RS has been lacklauster at best.

I see you have one (Cayenne Turbo) yourself! Yeah, I am happy with my ultimate choice and can't wait for delivery in a few months. And yes, even though I do not have an untracked GT3 RS, I am a poser. But without the untracked GT3 RS, I'm a more subtle poser.

For some reason, your suggestion seems to make sense to me
