Default Gumpert @ Oregon Raceway Park

Not a ton of Porsche content here except for a sweet 3.8 RSA that makes 350 hp and weighs 2500 lbs...

In any event, I thought I would share some cool pics

Evolution Motorsports (evoms) has been travelling the country showing thier wares etc...

So in typical exotic car fashion, they hit the cars and coffee circuit to show their cars to people that are "in that circle"

So they hit a local program in the Seattle area called "Exotics at Redmond Town Center" which is like most other cars and coffee events... roll in, drink coffee, talk to like minded people, lots of parked high end cars, and once in a while a drive but mostly polished perfection in a parking lot... lambos with doors open of course...

BORING IMHO

So a friend and evoms client arranged with evoms to get them to stop at Oregon Raceway Park (www.oregonraceway.com) on their way south for a little fun at the track... subsequent invites were sent and a few guys on short notice were able to make the drive for free gumpert test drives.

I was not one of them (I love my wife and kids, I love my wife and kids, I love my wife and kids)

Here are some pics that I though you all might enjoy.

A good time was had by all and the Evoms guys referred to Oregon Raceway as "shock and awe" mainly due to elevation changes they are not accustomed to in Arizona and lots of blind corners...

i'm the "participant" above. fantastic car to drive, tons of power with a slight lag that will take a pound of flesh if you're not careful. very precise steering.

driving that somewhere unfamiliar would surely end in tears.

Gee...I can't imagine you smiling around that car.

Looks like another crappy day in paradise!

Cheers,

I love it when a plan comes together.

PJ, it's unfortunate you could not make it. Todd and Matt said they loved it out there, and plan to come back next year. This track is much different from the ones in AZ.

In the interest of being a little lazy, is it taboo for me to post a thread that Brendo started on 6speed?

http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/n...g-gumpert.html

Very few track guys out there in the NW section, so it's mostly us talking to each other, but with some cool pics.

See, PJ....this is why you invest in a racetrack. You can then justify needing to go down for stuff like this. Biz Dev!

It's at the shop this week (except Thursday) if anyone wants to see it... Not something one sees everyday that's for sure. To get the record at the ring like it did is no mean feat. Insane suspension- that's honestly the most amazing part of the car (and the down force)...

I believe that Roland Gumpert was the head of Audi motorsport for quite some time
