Yoko slicks explain a lot... Great driving regardless.

Are guys liking those better than the Michelins from last year?

Now I just need a 2010 Cup Car with new slicks and 10 years of driving and coaching to get those last 8 seconds ;P

1:31 WOW, that's really fast, makes my 1:41 on Sunday look pretty slow.

JJ,

I have heard that the michelins are a faster tire, but its al relative.

This was my first time on slicks, and the reason was I got take offs from a cup car that were used in a race 2 weeks ago at mid ohio... even though they were used they were perfect for me to learn how to drive on slicks....

no my only problem is like mooty said..."slicks are like heroin" now I want to see what a fresh set feels like ;P

Seemed like you got the hang of them quick! Not all slicks are created equal though. I ran a pair of the WC Hoosier GT60's a couple of years ago and I hated them. The sweet spot was so narrow that I could never really get them to work...

Bruce Canepa's best time in his 917K was 1:31 at the Monterey Historics this year. A 908/3 did a 1:34. Pretty amazing.
