You'd have an even easier time if you took off the pedals and saddle. Also, in France I picked up a large bike bag at Decathalon which is a sporting goods chain (called a Housse *sp.? and made of a cordura like material). They (the bags) are used basically to transport bikes when you travel on trains. (Same concept as a travel bag but they have no protective cushioning.) In 2004 I paid about 35 Euros for it. Anyhow, the bags works great in protecting the sharp parts of your bike from scratching the inside of your car.

Reston Century is a fun ride. Did a few times when I lived in Vienna.

Given how into fine machinary y'all are, I highly encourage you to next time buy & ride a hand built steel or titanium frame from your favorite local builder like Soulcraft, Moots, Primus Mootry, or the like. Will still fit it your GT3, and ride & fit so much nicer than your glued together plastic/CF frames. Plus you will be supporting a local craftsperson. : )

Yes mooty came from my love of old moots. The new mtn moots aren't the same. Had mootaineer, rigor mootis, three ybb, two smoothies. All ti all custom to my super long torso and non existent legs.

Also Merlin custom xlm, serotta steel, seven dou, axiom, sola, teres.

I love all things ti
Moots made me a ti drinking cup.
Used to call butch at moots every week to bug him

But now I'm partial to carbon

Had steel. Mainly wall art at my parents garage.

I split my time between a Bill Holland Ti road bike, a David Kirk lugged steel cross bike and a Craig Calfee carbon fixie. That count? dave

Hey Harold,

Glad to know you road bike too. We met a big splash a while back. I'm an active road biker myself and you get well soon and we could do some rides together. Looking at the TS's picture above, I might consider taking my GT3 up for my Cameron Highland bike trip next month. Here's my C50:

This is what I ride. Take em to the top, point em down, and ride flat out. That's how I ride. Flat out.

Nice to see I have some fellow cyclists here. I used to compete in USCF masters years ago, but now I'm retired from racing and just ride for fun. I have a couple of older steel bikes, an Eddy Merckx Century TSX and a Specialized, that I still ride 4-5 times a week (mostly on the Merckx...I love the way it rides and handles). I'm constantly tempted to upgrade to something modern, but then I remember that it's the motor that needs the most upgrading.
