HA in my country someone to setup the 993 with all the kinematic rear with a 3 way adjustable? I would be still there after 6 years camped outside the shop waiting for the alignment.

Now that you put it this way no not really,
so I might sell the car to a ring freak that lives in the US to leave it there parked and trash it when he visits Germany. Actually I know a person like that.

I just thinking that 997.1 can be better baseline for modyfing than 6. Moreover the 7 rs is a bit nice looking car. I gained some experience in last 4 season competing in my 6 and prepering she that I know more less what I can do in 7.1.
Costs: the brand new rs 2 costs from 160k euro. I have very good opurtunity to buy exelent 2008 rs. Making 3,8 450/460 ps is about 20k euro. And I have fast, beautiful and new for me car I use gt3 only for track and amatour competition.
Yes I tried 7 gt3 cup cars but there is a TON of money to bit position 3-1...than I have to stay tuned with normal car...

I called rs tuning but they are on hollyday till 6 september...

1. exhaust- saving 15-20 kg, give 15-20ps, which do you recommend?
2 ECU
3. Regearing 3,4,5,6
4 may be 3,9L conversion
5 suspension?

I wonder your experience?

ps one question: is it possible to put 18' wheels on the car with PCCB?

thanks
Marcin
1. Center Muffler delete
2. Adjustable Sway bars
3. Upgrade Coil over suspension
4. Install adjustable suspension+monoballs
5. 996 CUP shifter cables
6. 4.0 CUP R&P
7. 3.9L

proper spec 18" wheels will work with PCCB

ECU upgrade is not neccessary.

I thought that all gt3/2 sway bars are ajustable.

suspension: I have KWS Manthey and moton. Do you think do they fit to 7?

as for wheels what spe do you mean?

and I think that regearing is better on the track. In fact 4;0 in 6 made in corners over 45 m/h that you go one gear up.

The GT3 sway bar is weak. You want either the upgraded GT2 sway bar or GMG. The adjustability is the issue.

Alot of PCCB 997.1 owners are using 18" track wheels... as far as i know as long as you stick with stock offsets and the usual track wheel brands you are alright....

As to coil over suspension, adjustable shocks are devil in the detail. But if you know a shop that knows suspension from either on track experience or suspension dyno in house then you should be able to use your KWS or Moton.

I use bilsteins for the simple compromise.......

I would suggest the following:

-More aggressive pads
-Corner balancing and aggressive alignment
-RSS suspension parts (some prefer TPC, or GMG)
-18 inch CCW w/ r-comp rubber

If it was me I wouldn't do exhaust, it will save you some money but you probably won't feel any difference because of the weight savings.

I probably wouldn't do the 3.9L conversion unless you are planning to keep the car. It will cost a pretty penny and you will not get your money back on the 3.9L Sharkwerks conversion. I know it performs amazing over stock on a straight line but what exactly are you looking for?

for track work
seats, harnesses, bar, Hans, alignment, tires
then rss or the like control arms, monoballs, toelinks etc
GMG or the like sway bars
replace crappy factory diff
ring and pinion - I went 8:33 Ricardo unit from guard
gears based on your tracks - I did first thru fourth and factory 5th and 6th
susp is wide open... budget and tuning ability dependent
cup cables are nice too

I have 18s that clear pccbs made by Jongbloed and by Fikse

(I also ditched the pccb rotors and put brembo type III on)

it was fully disclosed - I swear
long story but the full set up will not be complete until next week... at orp I was factory first, second, fifth, sixth with guard third and fourth... and the ring and pinion

end of next week all will be done

cw time I was at Kees' time in your car iirc - I was not timing but running with guys timing so it is not exact

considering a aim mxl like nigel's - crazy?

I spent a lot of time in the trailer going over data with BJ and it was amazing the coaching he could do just by data analysis...

Thx PJ. (I moved the msg to PM before your reply)
Kees was in the 1:55's on 2-day Nittos (engine/trans/shocks/springs bone stock). I'm going to bust my butt next year to get closer to that - comfortably.
Data rocks....and getting talent like BJ or Kees in your car really, really, really helps.

Forgot to mention (which can apply to OP), I got Kees to give me his feedback on my car setup. He gave me great info that confirms my intended upgrade and my plan for next year is to get him to help set up the car when the Motons go in.

OP: If you decide to hire a pro coach, get him to drive your car fairly hard (with data logging) to help get it set up right. You're paying for coaching time so may as well get your monies worth!

Hi,

The PCCB's won't fit 18 inch, only the steels will.

As for mods, I would really just put a set of slicks on and get the alignment done. It's a world of difference and no other mods would create the same value for money....

You need to invest in driving instead of modifying. Your car can drive much faster. When you have exhausted the potential of your car, then it will be time to move on.
