Jim ... you lucky B^&%%$&&#$^%$#!
Amazing to see a GT1 on the street ... reminds me of the new Porsche museum where they have the GT1 street, GT-1 Le Mans and the CGT parked in close proximity ...
just think thanks to that amazing car we have one of the best normally aspirated engines on the planet in the back of our cars!

Interesting how the front end is a mix of 993 with 996 headlights, the dash is mostly 993, the door handles are 996, not sure about the door frame, but it looks like 993 since it has a window frame. the rear brake lights are 996. Of course, the engine is stamped 964

Of course the 911 GT1 is an icon in the Porsche lineup and a supercar. My point though, being a hard-core 911 fan, is that a 911 is an all-in-the-rear design with the engine hanging from the rear. It is not mid-engine. The factory called it 911 GT1 for marketing reasons. I like 911s for their pendulum effect. Mid-engine cars may be better but they do not have the same feel. I do not want to rain on anybody's parade, just make an observation.

There were two different versions. The first with the 993 front & rear parts, the pict's I posted, and then second with the 996 parts like in the OP's pictures, but it looks like the interior was like the 993's on both versions.
