A non participants Decal opinion
Guys I ABSOLUTELY love the New GT3 and RS. A big debate for the RS is
the Decals. I understand the desire to understate. But really How ever
you as the buyer decide to do it is fine. Its a GREAT looking car either way.
The Decals have us long distance admirerers give us a visual que on the road.
NON decals make it look abit cleaner. But believe me Decals or NO Decals is an EXCELLENT problem to have.
Sometimes I wish my PDK wasnt so wonderfull, I would then either have a
08 Orange RS or 10 RS. OR GT3 All are great and the best cars on the road.

I saw a white/gold RS going the opposite direction on the freeway in four lanes of traffic each way at 75-80 mph (closing speed of at least 140 mph) and the car's most noticeable feature was the low front, not the decal and that drew the eye along the length of the 911 silhouette to the seemingly enormous wing. The decals in red instead of gold might add to the visual excitement, but they're not needed for the impact and presence the car delivers.
There's also the phenomenon that when you're driving on the freeway in a new RS, the traffic tends to sit behind and become spectators, so the RS tends to have "space."

Generally speaking I am against stickers. They look off in a road car. In a race car they are justified for advertisement and to distinguish one car from another and to show tow, cutoff switch etc.
In the latest RS they put too many on it Fast and Furious many even for " we are Porsche we do decals for years its our heritage" standards.
BUT,
I would like to see a black car with white wheels and white decals.
May be it would look like the 102 Dalmatian but maybe not.
I am very curious. Anybody with 5 spare min. to Photoshop it?

I also feel that it is toooooooo "boy racer" ! The decals on this new RS look to "Suburu WRX STI" for me...... especially in the Blue/Gold livery !
Reminds me of the factory 666 Rally Suburu program (which was a great program, by the way!)
I ordered my '11 RS without decals.
To each his own !

Sorry, I like tradition and don't like change.
I really liked the balanced look of all RS's since '72, as opposed the unbalanced, unhinged look of the '10RS. Checkers? Really?
It's like a car with the exhaust on one side under the rear bumper. Not balanced. If they's put 4 decals on, it would be even uglier, but I could have peace with that.
I am weird that way..

The decals are an unbelievable gaffe by Porsche. Asymmetric application with a checkered flag? Really? How many of us would give Chevy a free pass if they applied the same decals on the Corvette?
The almost too-subtle branding of the GT2RS is, I believe, a tacit acknowledgment by Porsche that they erred with the current RS decals.
