Default My new GT3 RS exhaust....more power?? NOW WITH VID.

Autometrics has the best solution for me. Hopefully, they will make a kit for everyone soon. It is similar to a cup exhaust, but with a few simple mods. It took out right at 40 pounds from the rear, which was really important to me. The sound increased about 4 db overall, so I can still pass at Roebling...big plus. We dynoed before and after and rubbed our eyes when we saw the results. It gained over 11HP and over 9 FP's of torque! To be honest, I would have been happy with no gain and the weight loss as long as it didn't lose any power. But, this is pretty incredible. The have another RS they are modifying right now. Not sure what the cost will be, but you can Google them and contact them if you want one. I'm sure if enough guys order, it will be less costly than alternatives. They are friends but I have no business affiliation whatsoever. But, it does stand to reason that they know what works best as they work with cup cars daily. I drove the car back from Charleston to Savannah, listening for any "droning" or anything weird. It was great. It groans louder at lower rpms and screams a louder higher pitch at higher rpms. The only drawback I can see is that I'm going to get a ticket from going faster in order to hear the exhaust notes! It really is cool and the best overall solution I've seen so far.

I didn't get any pics. I got video from the dyno though. I'll put some up on youtube soon. Pics won't be easy now..I had it lowered, corner balanced and a mild track alignment done as well. Can't wait to get on the track!!

You know me John. I don't do a lot of mods on the RS. If this one wasn't worth it, I wouldn't do it or post about it. I'll put up some dyno footage tomorrow and try to get some rev footage as well...sounds mean!

Nice! Thanks for posting, I assume the mods are what is keeping it so quiet?
+3dB is no big deal, it sounds the same I think.

Yeah, it's def not overbearing at all. But, it is louder through the range, but also deeper, especially at lower rpms. Just makes you want to squash the pedal. I can't knock other systems. Guys like sharkwerks and others are top notch. But, I haven't seen anything yet that offers weight savings like this and better sound, with a little hp increase. For me, the only reason I haven't done this long ago is that I couldn't justify the funds buy something without a decent weight savings. I couldn't stand to add the weight of the half cage without finding a way to get the weight back out. Other than this, the only thing I've seen that offers this much weight savings is a track exhaust, which won't pass sound at Roebling.

Can't watch the vid until later. Does this system retain the Sport button?

No it does not. It's "flapless". I found myself turning it on every time I drove anyway. So, it doesn't bother me that it is on constantly now.

John
Ha. No reason except:
Me driver yes
Me mechanic no

I know the side mufflers are eliminated and on my garage floor...is bypasses those. It keeps the center muffler. It keeps the tips. For some reason, the combo worked well enough to create or retain enough back pressure to add a little hp. Not sure how all that works, but happy with the results...feels more responsive. Not sure what you mean about a mode in the buffles...???
