Default GT2 RS first drive IL

Did a search, and don't believe this has been posted yet. Standard info most of us already know, but they do mention a lap around the 'Ring in the beast with Mr. Rohrl. Article also has a bunch of photos I've not yet seen (from PCNA)...wish there was a corresponding vid with Walter behind the wheel:

Actually It writes "around a track in Germany" not the ring. But who cares I WANT ONE!

I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry at the contradiction and cognoscenti irony of Sport Chrono and radio delete ...

Seeing how the 6 Gt2's are still holding their value pretty well it might still be a very expensive vehicle down the road especially since Porsche isn't making a ton. Very curious as to see how much they are going for in a few years myself.

No you're right I was referring the the 3. Although since the 7 gt2 came out I really haven't seen much of a dramatic price drop in the 6's. Sure, they did depreciate a ton compared to what they were selling for, but over the last year or so I haven't seen the prices change much on them, at least from what i've seen in private classifieds.

Noticed that too, hilarious spec to showcase Porsche's most powerful lightweight 997. Might dupe a few folks into thinking Sport Chrono actually does something useful, however...

Can't imagine Porsche would have the audacity to require Sport Chrono to access the full potential of the GT2 RS.

True, nothing mentioned in the brochure.

Actually, besides the HP increase, the only thing I like better about the RS is the center-lock wheels. Slightly biased of course... : )

while everyone here won't mind owning this GT2RS, the price of it makes my .2GT3RS a performance bargain. I would rather have a .2GT3RS and a Cayenne Turbo (or Panamera 4S) instead of a GT2RS any day.

I also love the look of GT3/RS better than this GT2RS (biased opinion of course). It seems like the color combo was picked just to make a difference to the current cars. The black air inlet in front of the rear wheel is just ugly and cheap looking.

somewhat agree

the GT2 has always been a special car.That is, a car for someone who wants to do almost everything a 3 can do, but with a big boost and big straight-line. Face it, it's not the twists where this car runs away from a 3 or 3RS.

My problem has been;

1) Turbo lag
2) styling cues

I almost did a .1 GT2 but went for a .2 GT3 instead and never felt the urge to look back. But it was those two factors that influenced my choice most. The rear of the .1 was like some kind of vacuum cleaner (with apologies to owners, since it is a fantastic car!). Nice to see this one is cleaner. In fact, take away the spoiler and it's a 911, or Panamera. In my book, that's a good thing. I like Porsches!

will PCNA get any?
