Clearly MPSC are the tire of choice (for non slicks tires) for GT3's and RS's for the track. How far off are these Bridgestones? Are they 90% as good as MPSC or are we talking 50% as good? They are so much cheaper and several guys at the track this weekend said they were solid tires.

Anyone using them and liking them and running as quick lap times after the switch?

I am not tracking them (hoosiers) but I am about to pull the trigger on a set for the street...

Michelin Cups and PS2s are basically $600 per for stock rear sizing... that is BS...

I have a need for rears to match the 2 fronts that are not worn out -- MPSC... I can get a full set of RE11tires for slightly more than just 2 rear cups...

I will post up once I receive them and drive them...

I have an email into Damon at Tire Rack with some questions about the RE11 and other options and I have yet to hear back... but I think I am going to order them anyway.

Had them on my Cayman S with multiple track days. They are better by far than the PS2's. The PS2 is a tire with 5-6 year old engineering. The RE-11's are one of the newest ultra high performance tire with great reviews. Even at the same price, they outperform the old crappy PS2's. In fact, on my new 2010 GT3 I will get them to replace my PS Cup sports. Can you tell I like them?

I run them as my street tire and track tire on wet days. I've run them several times in the dry when the weather didn't look promising enough to swap out for my slicks for fear of more rain They're grippy and durable as hell but get hot fast.

RE11s make a great autocross tire but are a less great track tire. They build up heat very quickly and they get greasy by the end of a a typical DE session. Expect to spend a lot of time and mental energy on pressure/heat management adjustments.

They're not nearly as good as a corsa or cup, but they're much better than PZero Rosso or regular PS2s.

All good feedback. I've run the MPSC and Corsas. Both great. At the cost savings and as quickly as I'm wearing out the track tires it seems worth considering. Nugget, how are they performing differently to make you say that aren't as good as the MPSC's or the Corsas. Are they noticeably slower?

be careful - when I researched a cheaper alternative to PS2s, I found out the RE11 is not weight-rated for rear use on our cars; I went with the RE050, which is of course much better than the "cup" tires in the wet, but has noticeably less dry grip.

The RE11 comes in two load ratings, just make sure you buy the correct one.

I just went back to mpsc from the re11. I didn't like them on track.
I think it depends on how aggressive you are on the track. I found they could not hold and got squirmy when hot and on hard cornering.
Good on the street. But i could still feel the tread giving when going hard on few fav corners. Sucks, cause I hate spending the mpsc $

I found if you keep the pressures down then RE-11=MPSC>PS2>RE050.
That was on the Cayman S, I havent finished off my first set of MPSC yet.

They are pretty crummy on the track except in the wet. Nice enough street tire. I've done perhaps 10 sessions on them in my Turbo (not my RS) and they really are no where near the MPSCs. Also note that they are not N rated and they are very HEAVY relative others. PZeroRosso were much better if you want something less compromised than the MPSCs.
