For Sale: P50 "Green" PCCB motorsport pad (rear only) for 997 GT3/RS! - SOLD!
Hi all,
I bought a set of 997 GT3/RS PCCB P50 Green motorsport pad setup for a good price but I can only use the front, as I have a 996 GT3. (996 and 997 GT3s use the same PCCB front pads) So I'm parting out the set and keeping only the front and trying to sell the rear.
I know it sounds like a lot of trouble but that's how someone with a small budget like me trying to save $$$ by doing trades like this, I guess..
It is brand new and I will post pic tonight. (Still has the zip-tie around them, the way they are shipped from the factory)
I see that they are $345 + shipping from TRG. I will sell for $250 shipped. (USPS, insured, and tracked) PM me if you are interested. Only 1 set at this price, of course. Once it is gone, it is gone! I can take PayPal, but prefer if your PayPal is linked to a bank account, so there will be no fee on my end.
The part # is: 997.352.930.92.

carrering, sorry, someone already committed to it before you (via PM).. I guess it is really a great price.. !! Sorry about that.. I wish I have more to share with my fellow GT3 owners..

By the way, if you need the correct PCCB P50's, your dealer can order direct from Porsche Motorsports North America. The $345 price mentioned here for the rears from TRG is the best I've seen. My dealer was willing to match that price.
The correct part numbers for the 2010 RS are:
front 99635194092 (996.351.940.92) Pagid P50 PCCB
rear 99735293092 (997.352.930.92)
Pedal feel is excellent and utterly fade free on a hot track day.
These will accept the wear sensors (superfluous for the track because you need to monitor your own pad wear) but nice to have no loose ends.
Don't neglect to replace the rear caliper bolts and clean the threads in the wheel carrier (a brush or compressed air) and use the correct torque to avoid damaging the threads in the wheel carrier.

Safe; I think so. Just be sure to bed them in as per the instructions from Pagid:

I did this on track by going out at the back of the grid for the first session (looking no doubt like a complete ****** in a hot rod RS driving like I was changing tracks on my iPod then accelerating in a straight line, then picking another song, then accelerating and braking like I saw a deer ...)
I found them to be no problem at dead cold first thing (parked in the paddock overnight with dense fog in the air) in the morning coming out of the pits at Laguna and straight into a 80 mph braking zone at the first turn.
I think the thing to remember is the extra pedal pressure at a walking pace just as you get to the first stop sign at the end of the street from your house.
Here's my notes on the bedding-in process:
Run factory street pads to start using the factory ceramic rotors for at least 300 miles
Install PCCB-specific P50 "greens"
Initial "pad transfer" stops in mph:
90 --> 80 medium x 6, 300 meters to speed up to 90 again, foot off pedal
Initial "boil off" stop in mph:
110 --> 50 firm x 1, 500 meters to speed up to 90, foot off pedal
90 --> 80 light x 4, 300 meters to resume 90 mph, foot off pedal (to "clean")
Repeat "heat and clean" stops. Pass #2
110 --> 50 firm x 1, 500 meters to speed up to 90, foot off pedal
90 --> 80 light x 4, 300 meters to resume 90 mph, foot off pedal (to "clean")
Repeat "heat and clean" stops. Pass #3
110 --> 50 firm x 1, 500 meters to speed up to 90, foot off pedal
90 --> 80 light x 4, 300 meters to resume 90 mph, foot off pedal (to "clean")
This took the first lap, then I completed the rest of the session at 50% normal pace, using the brakes firmly, but being careful to brake high speeds in a straight line and early, then get the foot off the pedal completely before turning in, to let the pads avoid any heat soak.
So far, no squealing. I imagine if I drive it on the street, the squealing will come, but at least they're quiet on the track.

hey guys, have a complete set of P50's sitting on my shelf. Got them for my RS Mk1 but never put them on. My Mk2 has steel brakes so no more use for them...
