Pretty wicked control. Sorry if this is a repost but I do not remember seeing this here before.

I just read about this in the September edition of Excellence, page 60. Turn on the HD version!

Thanks Pete and Chris and Jochen!

Great driving but time is not top. Something is going on with the newer michelins.
The wet 8:35 is 996 gt era time.

Regardless of what tire he was driving, in the wet 385 vs 415 vs 435 hp are effectively equivalent since getting power down is more about throttle control relative to available traction. Tough to judge actual conditions without being there at the time, but he is short shifting throughout and the 'Ring looks properly soaked during that lap.

Its 450hp.
Now that I am thinking this again, maybe he is using rain slicks or they putted back the stock rims and tyres because they raced the rs in the 24h with michelin dry slicks
9.5 x 18 with 24/64-18
12. x 18 with 27/68-18 and no way he is using those in the video. or is he?

Interesting video. Definitely worth watching in HD. Surprising to see the abrupt throttle inputs from the grand master, especially in the wet. You can see him extracting every hundredth of a second where he can find it.

its interesting to watch. there are a number of places where you see WR making "significant" corrections to catch the car ... all of these coincide with well known "offsites" on the track ...

all the places you see cars in "fields of green" during tourist laps ...

wet skidpan ... in this heat ... take a medley of vegetables along with you and you can steam them while sliding!

hopefully the Aug date will be cooler than today and dryer than Walters experience!

I notice it's a an all day tourist day on the sunday 8/1, you planning on lapping then?
