GT2 RS

overpriced 997 GT2. I would rather pick up a 2008 GT2 for less than 1/2 the price, a few affordable upgrades would make it plenty faster than a GT2 RS, the coins saved could buy a 2010 GT3 RS.
Yes, the 2011 GT2 RS will be very special, until Porsche launches the 998 GT2 and later 998 GT2 RS.

There are too many upgrades in the 997 GT2 compared to the 997 Turbo. Aero, PCCB standard, lightweight, no sunroof, launch control, wheel carriers, wheels, Ti exhaust, etc. With the 997 GT2 prices these days I would rather start with a 997 GT2.

i think with your experience, you should just gut out a 7.1 GT2 and start racing POC.

From my experienced track friends, the most fun is in the spec classes, but everything spec is slow unless it is 996 GT3 Cup or 997 GT3 Cup. I would rather drive a 997 GT3 Cup than a modified 997 GT2 as a track day car.
For street use, there is no need to modify a 997 GT2, it is plenty good, but there are more fun cars out there for the same use (2007 GT3 RS, 2010 GT3 RS, F430, Gallardo, R8). At 65mph, other factors start to play in addition to pure performance.

The moment you take out all the rubber stuff the PSM and PASM systems are no longer intrusive. The fact that they were there in the first place was to help the driver with such a combo of moving rubbery suspension parts chosen for comfort. TT is actually up there with the mods that eclou said plus some weight reduction bits (GT2 seats, exhaust, dymags). I have one and I have tracked it plenty to know its quite a blast.. I was able to drive with 680hp on a wet silverstone on corsas with PSM off at full pace. No way you could that with the stock tt suspension parts..
A GT2 with similar parts will have marginally better entry speed but lower exit speed on good surfaces. But slower all around on slippery staff.
Can't go wrong either way of course as they all both amazing - and the GT2.1 more exclusive of course
