This was it... nasty... but luck and a strong chassis did their job...

Very strange: one of the press reports (in german) refers to the police saying that both the BMW crew as well as Naruse were wearing helmets http://www.rhein-wied-news.de/?q=node/3741

This is not a race track (it's not even a highway), why do they wear helmets on a public road? Ok, they are all test drivers (what a coincident), but usually you don't wear a helmet when driving 'normal'.

There is possibility that they both came straight from nordschleife for petrol refill - too lazy to remove I assume. Still, that's a strange story indeed, almost intact structure of the LFA and both drivers were wearing helmets.
