Maybe BBS is getting a bit cheaper now with the EUR/USD exchange working in our favor...

Plus, since the rear calipers are the same bewtween the steel MKI and MKII do the MKI rotors still fit?

well as of today, it seems the .2 steels fit the .1 PCCBs ... see thread on Bob's new forgeline wheels for info...

You really should think about making this announcement as a top level topic and making it sticky ... this is pretty huge news for .1 PCCB owners!
Very cool indeed. VERY. Well spotted:P

Good point, but the pictures indicate that the hats are drilled for 5 bolt!

To answer some questions. The CL Forgelines were $5,000 Canadian dollars here. BBS cost $6,400 here. Can't say what US prices are. Check with Forgeline.

I ran Pirelli Slicks - not my first choice which would have been Hoosier R 80 F and R 100R but the fronts are not available yet.

Used 235/645-18 and 295/680 - 18. Not optimal but they were the only race tires in stock which had the correct ratio of front to rear diameter. No ABS issues - which was a concern.

Ran with neg 1.5 degrees all around as Trackcar had suggested. Probe temps showed the outside of the fronts running about 28 degrees hotter than the middle and inside. Not good. I have increased the camber to Neg 2.1 in front and will report. The rear was not as bad, just about 10 degrees too hot and a bit of outside wear. I have increased camber to neg 1.8. I'll see what next weekend brings as long as it does not rain! with this set up I had a bit of understeer in two fast corners which surprised me because on the OEM Michelins there is none. Odd. More camber in front should help. I have not started to play with sway bars. If the under-steer persists I'll stiffen the rear one hole and see.

Best,

Bob

Here are my Forgelines in black. They really did a great job! And thanks Joe R. for helping me choose a great wheel.

how are the forgelines holding up fellas? I'm debating between BBS 3-piece and the forgeline 3-piece for new track wheels. i like the price of the forgelines and it appears the clear the calipers a little better. Its also for a 997.2 RS.

I've got the same Forgelines (don't know if you got the Ti hardware but I did and thought it was a nice option). Great wheels. I am using the Khumo Ecsta V710 tire with them and am very pleased albeit I've only done 4 days on them thus far.

Rick deman has been spec'ing forgelines lately. very nice wheel. we've been goign tiwth their 3AGR race wheel, which is pretty light, a good 2lbs lighter than the bbs monos we have on the camaro. its a 3 piece forgeline wheel with hidden, titanium hardware. we've hammered them pretty good in race conditions, banged wheel to wheel a few times on a few of our sets. no issues.

nie thing abou tthe 3 piece with forgeline is that the pieces are relatively cheap. you whack up a wheel, just get some new modular pieces and you're back up in no time.

i do like the bbs as well a lot. just mroe money and heavier.

Just wanted to let you guys to know our GA3R and GWC3-R are now available for the GT3 and GT3-RS. They are 1.5 to 2 lbs lighter and 20% stiffer. Let me know if you have any questions about these wheels or anything else.
