Default 2010 RS with Forgeline 18's

Here's a cell-phone snap from this weekend. Received and installed my new wheels. perfect fit. The light grey centers look nice on the car.

Maybe I missed it somewhere, but how do you like the new car? How does it compare to your previous GT3/RS's on the track?

Bob, what made you go with Forgeline? Just curious to your decision process with BBS, GMG and CCW (very close to production) also out there with CL wheels

Team - BBS available locally are basically an adaptation of the Cup car wheels. Requires a lot of negative camber to avoid rubbing - at least on another local RS. Now he cords his tires on the inside edge.

Forgeline promised correct offsets - and delivered. A lot of the local race cars use them and have had no issues - even on some 700 HP monsters. US made which is a plus. Reputation for being very strong. I have had cracks with some other high end brands.

Lastly they were a lot cheaper than BBS and unlike some other brands, available when I wanted them

Oh, and I like the look too!

I think the steel and ceramic dimensions are "meant" to be the same for 380 and 350 rotors. I saw a post here saying another wheel maker was so close to the caliper, it ripped off the balance weights (and of course in the process damaged the caliper paint ...)

Forgeline does some great work -- they managed to stuff a 12 inch rear under a 993 Turbo rear with customer offsets.

Seems like BBS, Manthey, Champion, & Cargraphics, are all in the process of, or are about to release CL wheels ... GMG, Forgeline and CCW seem to have beaten them to the punch ...

FYI- Not jacking the thread but 997.2 GT3/RS steel rotors are now 380mm front & 350MM rear. In fact I just installed the 997.2 steel rotors (it appears they are actually 1 piece with iron friction ring and aluminum hat; see link below) on my 997.1 GT3RS for track application. Direct bolt in replacement, all 4 for <$2kUSD.

Re: Forgeline, I had them on my C5 Z06 and loved them. And don't forget, as Bob stated earlier, they are made in Dayton, Ohio, USA

AT LAST!!! ... confirmation that the .2 Steels fit the .1 PCCBs ... now I wonder if the .2 steels will fit the .2 PCCBs????

You really should think about making this announcement as a top level topic and making it sticky ... this is pretty huge news for .1 PCCB owners!
