Default VIDEO: 2010 GT3 RS Chassis Tuning

Interesting video. Is 2010/2011 GT3 RS set up more like a "drift car" than track car?

My guess is this guy has never read a forum...

Not to mention a "real" engineer would not have done that on the street while filming it, just dumb.

Firstly I tend to agree that these cars are too loose and that the setup needs to be altered as soon as you get yours delivered.

And the best way to do this is on a track, not on the road and it will be based on the feel and consultation with a race engineer.

What I don't agree with is his guess as to the lap times in standard setup Vs their setup. That's a joke!!

Furthemore, this guy is just trying to sound like a hero that is surfing for new wood duck customers.

BTW I'm not 100% sure what forums have to do with setup either......

Stock allignment, stock sway bar settings = 1 hole from soft front and rear.
-2 degree camber front and rear, factory is -1.45.

On Monday when I had my first drive, I didn't inspect the bar settings, however the car was far looser than I expected and would like.

I wrote a brief summary of my experience in another post and the following is is cut from that post.

The Drive!!
At first I felt that the rear was far too easy to provoke than the standard GT3, especially under hard acceleration in 1st & 2nd whilst cornering and requiring opposite lock for correction rather than software to save your backside.

Mike states in his Video that the car comes delivered with the rear bar in the middle and the front bar near on full soft. That would explain what I felt when I drove the vehicle.

Perhaps your dealer altered your settings.....

I am not sure what else could explain 1 hole from soft rear.

By the way, My everyday drive is a C63 Merc and they are as loose as a goose.

So what I felt was very, very surprising. That is under hard throttle whilst cornering.

When I race the Cup the Bars are always on Hard, Hard except for in the rain. So I would be surprised if you don't change your settings for the track. Because I will.... for sure.

Mike knows more about 911 chassis tuning that 99% of people out there. He has set up and designed more 911 gt3 cup cars that have won the daytona 24 hour than just about anyone... including teh 2008 podium sweep.

I was the one filming btw.

Why dont you watch this one...

There is no doubt Mike has talent and that he read the car correctly.

I am not 100% sure that his guestimation of Lap times were justified based on a quick squirt up the street, in particular on a bumpy road that looked liked it just survived the last earthquake.

Additionally, I feel that web forums are a great portal for information and that he shouldn't have mentioned this in his video.
