Finally have a "From the Factory" option that laps the ring faster than that pesky Viper ACR. Glad Porsche is finally "bringing" it!

that being said, a few CGT 's have been known to hit poles and walls..... they command responsible drivers as much as the next super car.
Have we all forgotten how to drive ? The CGT is the only "dangerous" Porsche as far as I am concerned, its throttle response (compared to turbocharged) is the main culprit (as well as the absence of PSM)

This new RS has quite a bit less power/torque than mine and with all the modern aids you really have to be a maniac to really lose it.....

The 918 Spyder is a step on the wrong direction. Adding weight, adding lots of electronics, electric motors, that's not the right thing. Their marketing BS says the 918 Spyder will be faster around the Nurburgring, they forgot to mention "just for one lap".

But, seriously I hope the Carrera GT depreciates badly, so I can buy my pristine one, and a few wrecked ones as spare part cars.
agree fully.
though your fiat aint too bad either.
i do recall telling you to get CGT back then....

And I suspect you could drive it quite easily and comfortably around town - which is not something you can easily do or would want to do in an ACR.

With the GT2RS, will there be a "regular" GT2 that's not limited production? I wonder what's the spec on that...

Aside from the possibility of scraping the front splitter, the ACR should be fine on the street.

The reason why I'm asking is because of this post:

http://www.motorauthority.com/blog/1...ptember-launch

"In addition to the new GT2 RS, a regular GT2 will also be launched. This model, which you can read about in more detail here, is expected to feature slightly revised styling and a milder 550 horsepower output. Both cars should go on sale in the U.S. around the end of the year."

So I'm wondering if it is just rumor...

That would greatly hurt the special appeal of the GT2 RS.... I hope they do not make a regular GT2.

With only 300 GT2RS to go around world wide, maybe a "regular" GT2 is not such a bad idea? (since I'm guessing that the demand for GT2 will be higher than 300 world wide..)

That is a quiet car! I barely heard the exhaust. I have no objection as I like a car that bites rather than barks.

I just like watching that video i a loop from about 1:28 to 1:38 ...

Porsche should sack their marketing department lock, stock and barrel -- all they need to do is have that loop of video. Someone comes in and says "I'm not sure about the GT2." They watch the video. They sell their house and buy the car. Simple sales cycle.
