Default looking for 2010 GT3 at or below invoice

One of my friend is looking to trade up to a 2010 GT3 from his 996 Turbo. His (wife's) price ceiling is $100K and a good punch in the arm from me will push that to low $100K if an ideal sample can be found. Looks like the MSRP and invoice for 2010 GT3 are as follow according to consumer guide

MSRP: $112,200
Invoice: $100,800

Appreciate if any one has a lead to help my friend spend some money

you wont find a car now anywhere near base MSRP, there are only about 20-30 cars left nationwide (mjones where are you?) and all are black/white/silver/gray dealer specced cars with the exception of one speed yellow car @ Rusnak Pasadena ...

I suspect that most of the remaining inventory will be pretty optioned out.

Unless you can find a wrecked and repaired car, it isn't going to happen for a while, probably a year or 2. None of the cars sold near invoice and there is only 1 known 0-option GT3 (it sold for list). Most of the remaining are high option cars with $130K+ stickers and of those, there are very few left. He should look at an 07-08, which will be well within his price range.

You might get within 4% of invoice (I did) but dont forget any options also add to the dealer invoice cost, and they typically are approx 12-15% retail for each option ...

Heavy optioned GT3 is a deal breaker at my friend's price target. Perhaps he can sell these lead weight options on ebay

sadly PCM, Sports Chrono, etc etc are not easily removed ... I think he should realistically set his sights on an '07/'08 car ...

Monterey have a white '08 at 95k I believe ...

Realistically, your friend will have more choices on the market for a very nice 997.1 GT3.

Regards,

Miky, he should be able to pick-up an used 2010 in the low 100s today, or save $30k and get a 2007 (95% car for 70% the price)

This is a fantastic option and am sure there are some examples out there that are worth picking up!

the 997.1 GT3 market is so hot right now for good buys. 70s-80s!

trade might be difficult to upgrade to a used 997.1 at a dealer for a hot price unless he can dump his 996 privately than wrangle a killer deal for a 7.
