Can anyone confirm if this bracket will work with the standard 997.1 GT3 seat: http://www.bkauto.com/porsche/r2032.php. My local shop says this is the right one, even though the photo in the link is not the standard GT3 seat.

I just installed this bracket on my GT3 with GT2 seats,I dont think it will work on standard seats as it requires a sub belt bracket that attaches to the GT2 seat base. Read the description closely, then call BK to be sure.

The description in the Web link does mention the need for the R-9032 anti-sub strap bar in addition to the R-2032. Is that what you are referring to?

This is the mount that works in the 997.1 GT3 with stock seats. Passenger seat only. I could not get your link to work for me. Maybe it is the same mount.

The mount you show in the link requires a sub belt mount bar to attach to, which only applies to either
the (GT2) Sports Buckets or the 996 Clubsport Recarros, it will *not* work with the stock seats.

Why not order the factory fire ext and mounts for the stock adaptive sports seats?

Interesting. The technician who was going to install the bracket told me the B-K R2040 that you reference would not work with stock GT3 seats. However, I'm not sure if he was aware it fits only the passenger seat. He steered me towards the R2032 which he claims he has installed in several GT3's.

Track regulations require a 2.5 lb min fire extinguisher. The dealer told me the Porsche unit is a bit under that, 2.2 lb I believe. I do have a 2.5 lb extinguisher but the Porsche extinguisher mounts won't accommodate it, according to the dealer.

This is turning out to be more complicated than I ever imagined.

The one I list is the correct mount (passenger side only) for the GT3 stock non adaptive sport seat. I did confirm this with BK and Livermore Performance before I purchased it.

I do have it in the car.

UPDATE: I just got the bracket installed. The correct one is the Brey-Krause R2040, as recommended by 996toomey. It installs on the passenger side. The R2032, which is specified for the GT3 on the B-K Web site, does not work with the standard 997.1 GT3 seats. And to reiterate, the Porsche OEM extinguisher mount is designed for the Porsche OEM extinguisher, which is too small to meet track rules. The Porsche mount will not work with other extinguishers, including the 2.5 lb unit that I have.
