Default WEVO Motor Mounts at Thunderhill

Just completed 2 days and over 4 hours of driving time at Thunderhill with David Ray's Hooked on Driving. Great mix of cars and perfect track conditions with a well-run organization.

First time out at Thunderhill with the WEVO motor mounts on the GT3 (thank you Mikymu for your installation instructions)

The problem many have experienced in driving a 911-based car through the esses, turns 12 & 13, is that you try and find third gear and its not there because the driveline is flexing. If you're somewhat unlucky you find 5th gear, if you're very unlucky, you find 1st gear.

Not so with WEVO motor mounts. The problem with driveline / motor flex is not present to any appreciable degree any more - its easy to take turn 11 in 2nd gear, wind it out to your usual shift point, easily select 3rd gear, wind it out, and then easily select 4th gear. No need to let off the gas, short shift or dog it through there in a higher than optimal gear. The payoff is that you are at a much higher speed all the way down to turn 14.

Thank you WEVO for engineering and building a well-engineered and cost-effective modification! (no affiliation)

Fantastic and glad WEVO was able to provide better engine/tranny stability on these demanding turns Did you improve your lap time or was there too many slow traffic?

We had only 17 cars on track the first day, mostly Ferraris. Second day was run what ya brung, with everything from spec Miatas to Nascar stockers. Didn't bother with my trackmate, but speeds were significantly higher everywhere on the course. Pretty sure that laptimes were quicker than my previous best lap by a good margin.
