The rear stock pads are not all 4 the same, note how the stock rear pads are much smaller.
I did not see them come out, so I wonder what the leading edge is, but assume the slighly slanted part that is cut out?

The stock pads are Pagid R90, I replaced them with pagid R29.

The stock front pads have these 2 pins attached, the R29's do not. What is the function of these pins?

Peter, are you using RS29 both front and rear and how do they sit on the rotor? Do they stick out or too close to the center aluminum hat? Rear stock pads are noticeably small compare with the other pad and I don't know why OEM front has that two metal cylinder on each end??

Yes R29 front and rear. The MKI rear pads seem to fit fine. I have not tried to see if the MKI rear rotor fits on the MKII.

2010 takes a different front pad than the prior years - solely to clear the aluminum rotor hat

Oh man ... must be the dreaded Cup car pads with narrow width such as the Pagid RS 29 8004 Cup rotor specific pads. They are more expensive than the regular RS 29 2707

Are we talking about the aluminum cylinder looking things?! I am guessing that they are there to provide some sort of dampening effect.. ?!

The front calipers are also different on the steel brake cars. They now have the same calipers as the MKI and MKII PCCB fronts. Hence why pads are a different size from the MKI.

Yup, I found out that I have the wrong ones...
They fit, but the "hang over" the inside of the rotor, no problem for street driving, but not good for tracking, so I will swap out next week.

Default 997.2 GT3 Steel rotors as 997.1 PCCB replacement

Here are pictures of the right 380 mm front one-piece steel rotors from the 997.2 GT3/RS (the others are still in the boxes). They are not installed yet but every measurement indicates they should be a direct bolt in replacement for the 997.1 PCCB front and rear. I have not weighed them either but picking them up gives me a "guesstimate" the 380 mm fronts are in the 20-23# range.

Front 380 mm rotor

In-board side

FWIW- I will have weights and complete part numbers later this week.

Since the rear calipers are the same bewtween the steel MKI and MKII do the MKI rotors still fit?

ok, here's the thing, I dont think those are the 997.2 front 380's ... those pictured are one-piece rotor+hat ... I believe the 997.2 fronts are two-piece
with a reusable hat ...

I think you have cup rotors there ...

take a look at the picture mikymu posted ...

Larry-

Now I am confused. The picture you reference is from mikymu's 11-20-2009 "PCCB to GT3 Cup Steel Rotor- Bitter Sweet Conversion" thread. Correct me if I am wrong but the 2-piece in mikymu's photo is the Cup Hat/Rotor.

https://rennlist.com/forums/7084498-post3.html

Obviously the 1 piece 380 mm rotor (actually it does have an aluminum hat and steel friction ring, but the aluminum hat is not reusable) in my picture is quite different and identical to the steel rotors I saw on a 2010 997.2 GT3 at Mid Ohio on May 1 & 2.

I hope mikymu can verify that his picture is of the 2-piece Cup steel rotor.
