I think this thread proves for the upteenth time that you're not going to get a concensus opinion on PCCB. Get what you want.

Can we put this topic to rest yet?

get them if you want them. these threads are like animal house when the girl passed out on the bed and the devil and angel appeared. You will hear "do it" and "don't do it" all day long.

Your GT3's brakes fade on the STREET?

hey, are the new steel brakes on the RS the same as the ones in the CUP car? i.e, same caliper and rotors?

I suggest brake-delete. Get a cutout through the floorpan and Flintstone it.

Has this horse been beaten to death enough?

Remember that the 997.2 has larger front rotors and calipers. It also has significantly better brake cooling than the 997.1. I absolutely love the new steel brake after 3 track days on them. Nobody was outbraking me and I had absolutely no fade. The stock pads are very aggressive: very noisy and poor performance when cold, incredibly stong and do a good job of pad transfer to the rotors when hot. PCCBs will not outbrake the steel brakes at the track, but they may be more livable on the street (yes this sounds the opposite of what you would expect, but the new brakes are that improved). The only thing that needs to be upgraded is the brake fluid.

When it comes to resale, you will NEVER get your money out of PCCBs. You will be lucky if you can get just a couple thousand more for having them. Hopefully also you will never damage a PCCB rotor as you will need a deep pocket to replace it. Hence why a lot of people take the PCCBs off and put a set of steel floating rotors on instead.

You are a perfect candidate for PCCBs. Not much tracking but aggressive street driving. The PCCBs will give you years of satisfaction.
I dont think it affects your resale, one way or the other. The new buyer can put steel rotors whenever he wants. Thats the thing about PCCBs people dont say. When they go if they go in your ownership period,REPLACE them with steels,
no biggie and no huge replacement costs.

The PCCBs will be in full effect when my vehicle arrives in June.

Like most options, based on pure performance ceramics are a waste of money. No better stopping performance and a huge cost. No resale value. Just bragging rights. I cant imagine not finding a better place to spend $8k.

i had 60,000 miles on my PCCB with plenty of track time. The first 13,000 miles the car was a track press car. The rear rotors never replaced and the fronts GEN1 replaced at 29,000 miles. The GENII like new with 30,000 miles on them. Have know idea how many steels I would have gone through. I like the feel, and saving 10 lbs per wheel.
