i did 4.0 in one of my 6gt3. it solves some prob at certain turns, but other turns that used to be ok now have problem as the rpm drop remain the same, you are just stuck one gear higher now.

regear the whole box, that's it ;-)

I meant on the straight going into 5. Currently I'm just hitting the revlimiter in 3rd before braking for turn 5. With higher corner exit speed out of turn 4, I'll need to use 4th gear before braking/downshifting to 3rd for turn 5.

6gt3 is not geared right for that turn.
no matter how fast you exit T4, as soon as you up shift to 4th, you need to shift right back down to 3rd for T5. with R and P, it's slightly better. you will be in 4th earlier but you have to be way fast to make T5 in 4th and big *****. if you downsfhit to 3rd, the car would feel "stuck" in T5 with 4.0 RP.

If I had to do it all over again I change the gears but at that time did not have $$$ to do it. R/P definitely gives 3rd gear more usable trq but I always worry bout downshift from 5 to 4 at t1 at thill. Mike

997 S's do NOT have LSD stock or as an option... 996 had the option and 997.2 have the option but Porsche took it off the table with the 997.1... which is the car Gomez and I have.,

LSD will be going in when the clutch needs to be replaced along with a LWFW...

you do know that it is cheaper to regear 2-4th gear than RP!

When is the next Mooty Laguna Instructor Day.

I have always wanted to drive on that track. How far in advance do you have to book Mooty as the instructor for the day?

Mooty doesn't want to instruct me- he knows I can drop 2 seconds off my laptimes and he doesn't want that : ). Mike
