10' gt3 ticking noise from wheels...help!
Im getting some weird noise coming from the wheels while cornering hard.
On a big empty round about it does it every time when pushing the car very hard.Especially when turning left i get this constant noise ,seems to be coming from the outside side wheels(right rear?) i think.
anyone know why this is happening?should i take it to the dealer?

you could also have something loose that rubs/binds in the suspension. or tire clearance issues. or gravel smacking the inside of the wheel wells. could be anything.

got it checked by dealer today,no nails, rear brake duct was loose(got that fixed)
still geting ticking noise when turning(only happens when you fully trasfer the load of the car to the right wheels, going 9/10 i.e).I will take it back tomorrow,it maybe possible that lug nuts are over torqued?

FWIW, I wonder if it could be the clutch pack in the LSD? Clicking on slow turns on wet pavement in my '07 Z06 is from the LSD...a known issue with some. Sometimes correctable with replaced lubrication. Don't know if this is a possibility for Porsches or not.

ok so they traced the noise to the fuel line (need to replace the brace on fuel line connecting the fuel tank to the filler cap) rubbing.thanks for all the replys though.
btw porsche gemrany already knew about this noise, they fixed few gt3s before with same problem.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, was it the the fuel line as noted above? I have noticed the same clicking noise on hard cornering. I will be taking the car to the dealer next week to have it checked out.

comes from the brakes
I have the same problem and it made me very nervous. I had no clue...went to track with some amateur race team gt3 cup car guys and had the pro teacher drive my car...pointed out the sound to him...he wasnt sure at first...he thought it could be the brakes, so he did some trail braking, and just messed around hitting brake on the turn and the sound would stop. I believe he said it was the brake rotors(having a little play or something)...he said its not a problem at all...forgot exactly what it is about them...but he said it doesnt matter..and gave me no trouble at the track.

I had the problem while running at a DE event with my 2011 GT3 RS. The noise was loud enough that two corner workers reported it. "Clicking sound from rear end of car." I couldn't reproduce it on the street. Dealer checked out the car and couldn't find anything. Just ran another DE yesterday and didn't hear anything. I would like to know the source, especially if it's a fuel line.

Another possible cause is the wheel weights hitting the brake ducts under hard cornering. Had it happen on the 6GT3 when AutoX. The solution was place the weights closer to the outside of the rim.

The studs that hold the center lock wheel get loose and cause a clicking noise. Tighten the screws that hold them. Loose or badly located wheel weights can do the same.

From what i am reading this does not appear to be a safety issue. More of an annoyance. I am thinking of delaying my service appointment until the end of the month. I have a DE scheduled next weekend and another track day on the 23rd, and was going to take the car in after for an oil change and to have the problem checked. I will let you guys know what I find out. Another observation, given the number of 2010/11 GT3 and RSs out there, and the few cars that seem to experience this problem based on the limited responses to this post, the issue appears isolated to a small number of cars.
