Question Lithium-Ion Battery

Wow I have a RS orfered and a Spyder and my Dealer just called and informed me that the Lithium-Ion Battery was no avialble as an option for $1,700.00. Saves 22 lbs but is it worth it at this price Please let me know what you think. I told him i would let him know Monday.
Thanks!

Compared to PCCB, the dollar per pound lost is favorable. Do you live in a cold climate? The L-Ion battery may not start your car in temps at or below freezing according to Porsche.

It's a lot of money for a battery, but people spend that much to get their seat backs/center console painted. Lol. At least this option has functionality.

Thank you! You have renewed my faith in true enthusiasts.

Now gt3cup98, are you fully informed about this battery? Here is a link to the full details: http://www.porsche.com/usa/aboutpors...=2009-11-23-02

I spec'ed it on my order with no hesitation. Also, keep in mind that if you do spec the LiON, your car will ship WITH the regular battery and the LiON will be in a box for you to install and use as you see fit. You get TWO batteries.

I live in Florida and I guess you have to justify the weith loss not as expensive as carbon fiber.
Thanks for the help!!

You can save the same weight for a lot less money with a Rennline battery bracket and an Odessey battery.
