On the MK1 GT3 and RS switching to iron was easy. In front use 996 Cup car rotors. In back use 997 Cup iron rotors. You need to use new pads but the calipers are the same so you save a lot of money. Don't know about the 2010 RS but I ordered mine with iron rotors. PCCB are not ready for prime time in my view and won't be until the cost to replace is a lot more reasonable.

someone has had to have been the ginnypig for this. i'm hoping this is true because i would like to order the car with pccb's and then swap the rotors out. keep the pccb's for mostly street.

Are you referring to the 997.1 GT3? Or the original 996 GT3?

Your other option is Porsche Motorsports p50 Greens for PCCB pads - handle tough use better than OEM.
Yes, I have them right here, fresh from PMNA -

Yup! ... honestly it's a complete SWAG on my behalf but it seems to me that if you were designing the '10 brakes and suspension and you went from 350 to 380 up front that you would maximize reuse where possible, so all the suspension parts would be the same (not the case on the .1's as I recall for the fronts at least, different wheel carriers and of course rotor diameters) calipers (except color) hats etc ...

I'd wager that if the front wheel carriers are the same on the .2 then there is a likelyhood that the rotors will interchange ... although the calipers/rotors/hats could still differ I suppose ...

We need someone with a shop and 2 cars ... or a car and some rotors!

some simple measurements of the steels should suffice:

- rotor thickness
- hat depth/height

actually thickness might be enough since you could potentially re-use the hats
from the PCCBs if in fact the hat depth/height/offset was different between the
steels/PCCBs ... which would probably imply that the calipers were different
too ...

just some arbitrary thoughts ...

would be great if it worked on the .1's as well ...

Yup seen it ... but I wonder if .2 steel rotors might be:

a) a better drop in fit

and ...

b) a bit cheaper!
