Default $220K for a 2010 GT3 ... anyone?

In Taiwan that is. Got bored and configure a 2010 GT3 in Taiwan and man is it expensive! America may not have the lowest tax but we sure have the cheapest car price compare with everywhere else. Some Asian country tax something like 300% for foreign auto

That's cheap!

FYI, the Euro/USD exchange rate is $1.45 today.

Pricing without options from the Dutch website:

Not that it helps a lot, but remember the Dutch pricing shown includes taxes and the United States MSRP does not.

Well, tax and fees is about 10% on top of MSRP in US but still a whole lot less than $305K in Dutch

Who can afford to buy these GT3/RS in Europe without some sort of government incentive? I don't think you can save up $300K in a hurry even if you don't have to pay health insurance

Default Republic of Ireland

There isn't even a car configurator for Ireland because the only remaining Porsche dealer shut down last year. The "old 997 GT3" was 185,000 Euro = 268,000 USD (incl taxes).

Time to raise the Viking flag and sack a village to help pay for a GT3. OMG, the price of cars outside of US is just awful!

Not only are the cars more expensive in Europe but you also have other costs associated. For example, in Italy you pay a yearly registration tax on the amount of HP your car is rated at. In Italy, its about $2000. Insurance will also be relatively expensive and the cost of gas, which hovers around 6-8 dollars a gallon, is another major issue. Let's face it, we like in the greatest country in the history of mankind.

Asian countries are famous for their taxes. But what I don't understand is why would a European car be so much more expensive in Europe?
