Default Thankful I bought Tire Insurance

Had my PS2's swapped back to my original cup tires yesterday at the dealer and noticed nails in both rear tires. I made sure to buy the insurance, as I have on my previous 2 Porsches. It is worth it.

If anyone is sitting on the fence regarding the insurance, my advice is to get it. Saved me over $1100.00.

BTW after 4500 miles on the PS2's I was impressed at how even the wear was on the tires. Looks like the balance and alignment from the factory is quite good.

I have had the same experience. I am more careful now on the ramps on and off the freeway. I think following the real line puts the tires in the **** especially with the decreasing radius.

I have never heard of tire insurance... I have heard of wheel insurance...

how much is tire insurance and if my wife put nails in the driveway when my tires are almost worn out... is that fraud? :-)

I am going to buy this from Porsche - cost is approx 1000-1500. This tire/wheel warranty is sold through the finance dept at the dealership.
I was on the fence about doing this until I priced out PS2 tires....

I got it on my MB.
I paid $600.00

It was for 5 years unlimited miles. So far I had 4 wheels repainted and one replaced and 2 curb rashed repaired (Wife's car), total of my cost would have been +/-4K. Mercedes does not plug tires so, if you get a nail, you get a free tire.

I found out today that the PS2 305/35/19 fit on both the MB (Stock 285) and the GT3, would have been nice to buy in bulk if I wasn't selling the GT3 ;-)

The policy I'm considering wouldn't cover curb rashes or cosmetic repairs.

Yep! Worth every penny. I am ahead of the game, although I wish I hadn'thad to use it. I'm just glad I found it before it stranded me somewhere, or worse.
