I know McKenna has something like over ten Twenty-Ten Turbos just waiting for the release date. But that is besides the point. Bakersfield has a halfway option GT3 for omer $130k. Been there for months.

I was just trying to clarify Fooshe's earlier posting. I wasn't sure if they meant McKenna in Norwalk or Rusnak (elsewhere) had offered it for $5K off.

^ what does it have?

PEDM different story, imo. And, there is only speculation presently that the mounts can be retro-fitted.

Sport buckets can easily be added. Suncoast has them for $6495. The option was $3k, right? So, one would have an extra set of seats which could be easily sold or kept to be returned to the car before it was sold. There is also good market for the standard 997 GT3 seats. Even if that wasn't the case, sport buckets don't make the car. They're nice but the standard seats hold you very, very well and the 28-30 lbs of weight won't really make a difference. I'll bet that no more than 33% of the 2010's sold had/have sport buckets.

There are several advantages to sport buckets beyond weight. First, if you are a track driver (Mooty is a DE instructor) you must have seats with pass-thoughs to use harnesses. From this standpoint, he has to upgrade seats if it doesn't have sport buckets. If you have ever sat in the sport buckets, there are probably the most comfortable track seats made. They have a lot more padding than the Fiberglass GT3 sport seats that just seems to mold to every body type that sits in them. They are also a lot stiffer. The frames feel like they are made of granite. Until you drive in them, you don't realize how much translates through a Euro GT3 seat when you drive in them by comparison. Finally, they flip forward. For all of us that have Euro GT3 seats in our cars, we are challenged getting any use of the space behind the seats. There simply is not enough room between the seat back and the door threshhold even with the seats all the way forward to get any meaningful use out of the space behind the seats. With the sport buckets, I just flip them forward without moving the seat postion and can load my helmet bag and cooler. I would have a hard time paying $6500 for these seats, but $3000 as an option is a bargain. Kudos for Porsche making these standard on the RS. They should have been standard on the regular GT3. I completely understand what he is looking for.

funny you should mention this ... as it was funny to glance down at the iDrive nav display on my '10 BMW 535ix Sport Wagon coming off of Flugplatz towards Schwedencruz and watching the little circle/arrow follow the line ...
I wonder what the "robot" BMW 3xx that was on Top Gear would do at the rinf once it had been taught the track?
