I mean really what is the point of those stripes? Them colors are weird and they don't match; what's the point!?
Porsche probably figured that the ugly bubble *** didn't attract enough attention so they thought they would finish the job with some unattractive stripes....
Whilst the 911 is iconic for Porsche, they need to stop introducing cues from the 911 on every new platform they build... Their other cars would look so much better without them (ie. slopping bonnet and 996 shaped headlights on Cayenne & 911ish *** end on a giant size 4 seater like the Panamera).
Just give them a stylish, individual look of their own... People know they are Porsches and obviously want them for their performance and ability to fulfil a purpose or they wouldn't purchase visually challenged (IMO) cars in any case... Visual cues are not required to remind people that they are Porsches IMO...
Remember, it's the newest member of the "family". Marketing ties it to all the great accomplishments by Porsche. It will probably be the first to go, as well.
