Back in 1998 I had a 994 C4 and was going to the track regularly. I told the shop owner we needed to rip everything out of the car, convert it to 2wd and weld in a roll cage. The shop owner said well we can do that or you can simply go buy a Supercup car. We had a mutual friend who had been back and forth to Germany and had befriended several supercup teams, so off we went to Germany, met the Deutch Post team guys at their shop, bought a 1998 993 Cup with 4 races on it. When I got back I needed an home email address, so I used Supercup and have been using it ever since on boards as well.

A German saying: Pertains to the cats that lived in the blacksmiths barns. When they struck the iron, a spark would hit the cat, and it would take off like a "Schmidts cat" (see scalded cat also)

No brainer here, needed a username and couldn't be bothered putting much thought into it at the time (now thinking I should have). Always been a big fan of 911s as I think they rock!

I was racing mountain bikes back in the mid 1990's in the Western NORBA nationals, and I would catchup with some of the guys in my class but they were like 18 or 20 years old and I was getting up to 40. The young guys would accelerate to try to drop me. It wouldnt work, and I would just stay on their case, until I would accelerate to pass them. I would hear them say as I went by "who in the hell is the oldguy?" I heard that at least 4 or 5 times the last being here in Mammoth.
Whats kind of curious about that is I started road biking to train. More and more I got into road biking, and the guys I ended up riding with were all old guys! Even when I crossed over into road racing the majority of the good racers were all older. There was no advantage to being 40 or 45 and road racing. It got tougher as I got up in age. I thought it would get easier, as guys faded away, but the tougher and tougher racers were in the older age groups. I dont think it has changed today
