ichiban (means first, best, etc in japanese) is because I had just come back from a vacation in japan and signed up for a new RL account. I'm gaijin, but all the RL'ers always assume I'm japanese! cracks me up

I didn't like my old name 97 C2S or 993C2S which was my first porsche back in 03.

I guess not very original in today's standards, but I've been around this board since the old board was still in place (anyone remember that one - the lower tech version??) and guys like Viken ruled the board. Somehow Viken set the precedence to use our full names back then, or at least he did so, and I followed and I've been too lazy to change it!
I remember that well though I let mine lapse during one very busy point so my born on date reset. Kept the same unoriginal username though. Any word on Viken? he kind of disappeared years ago...

Md11 as in McDonnel Douglas 11, the latest and most high tech version of the DC10 airplane.
Skipper as in Captain. Flown the Md11 for 11 years and a total of 6000 hours worldwide. By far my favorite plane I ever flew, it has the highest approach speed of any transport category airplane in the world so I have been told. At max landing weight the approach speed is around 175 knots or 200 mph, add crosswind and gusts and it is a handful - exiting to say the least!

My last name is Perquin which frequently got "bastardized" into penguin. Born and raised in Holland where the famous Flying Dutchman originated, I figured Flying Penguin would be appropriate.

First time I felt the boost in the turbo I thought that it was like flying on the ground, plus turbos have turbines, hence landjet.

I used to be an army gastroenterologist. After one too many sandbox tours, I popped smoke and I am now a civilian gastroenterologist working for the army in Germany. It is much better to work for the army as opposed to being owned by them. No more crazy summer vacations. Yes, that is a Vietnam era 113.

My second Porsche was the first of the nine US 1987 Escort Turbo Cup 944T race cars. Had it for 15 years until I sold it to get my GT3. I still miss it.. Bunches!

Mine is rather simple: My name 'Jon' shortened from Jonathan with my birthyear.
