4 post lift for all the reasons stated.

best part; they come with a caster system which allows you to move it (roll it) from one side of your garage to the other, spin it around or even roll outdoors if needed...and uses 110 voltage. 3000psi concrete is adequate...single arm systems need 6000 psi concrete.

diethelm: Very nice garage and great Cigar/Scotch comment. That is great that they throw in the garage, but at ASU we are STD free. (grin)

I've been looking more at the Rotary Revolution. From the pics, it looks like it plugs into a 110V outlet, right? Also, do you need an air compressor hooked up to run it (my father-in-law's needs compressed air to lower it)?

Those 4 post lifts look pretty nifty but is it easy to change the oil out of the oil tank for example in my 993tt? Looks like the platform would be in the way and would need to set up some sort of collector/funnel - which would be tricky knowing how fast the oil comes out...

You can purchase the Rotary in both 110 and 220. The only difference is the speed in which the lift goes up. Down is the same speed as it is simply bleeding off hydraulic fluid back into the tank and out of the ram.

Make sure you consider the aluminum extension ramps. They are very light and much longer so that you can fit pretty much anything up the ramp.

I have never had a problem with draining oil even on dry sump cars such as the Ford GT which has a drain far to the passenger side. I have a commercial drain that holds 25 quarts and then you can take it off and set it on a 55 gallon drum and the valve opens and all the oil goes away. Some day, when the drum fills up, I will have to deal with it but I hope that is after I die and we can let the new owner or the city deal with it.......

I went with a local company that supplies and installs them. Anytime I need servicing they come out immediately. Nice service to have should anything go amiss with them.

Default Bolt to the floor

I'm about to order the Rotary Revolution. Got a really good price. Delivery and installation for $650, which I thought was pretty good.

One question: should I have it bolted to the floor? Seems like it would be a good idea, but the lift dealer said there's no need for it.

with that garage, even if the manufacturer is located on the moon, they will send a shuttle to you to drool over those cars....

Mine is bolted to the floor.

I had my dealer do the install. It's a pretty big job.

I also figured that if something happened and a car fell that the dealer would have liability.

We installed ours ouselves. It was not too hard of a job. The only thing that was hard was the positioning the part with the Hydralic cylander in it (It was VERY VERY heavy, mabye 900 lbs). We bolted ours to the floor becuase it gives us a better piece of mind.

I definitly 2nd Diethlem's recommendation of getting the aluminum ramps they are woth every penny becuase of the weight savings (much easier to put on and take off).

Also our lift down not need an air compressor to lower it. It goes down slowly and works very well and it is from Worth.
