Yes, but the Braille looks to have more output and less weight than the Porsche product.

Tony from Voltphreaks here. Don't forget the VPH750 at 5.25 pounds for $1299!

Here's the relevant info:

Cranking Amps (CA) 920 amps
Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) 420 amps
reserve capacity (RC) 28 minutes
Capacity 14 Ah (comparable to lead-acid batteries of up to 48Ah)
weight 5.25 pounds

How times change. I think if you searched hard enough, I've posted here in recent years saying something to the effect of "Volphreaks are great for serious track and competition cars, but otherwise, just get a jet ski battery." While that still holds true, I have to say the 'Phreak battery is looking like the bargain in the exotic technology ... : )

ps. I suggest putting a fuse on the reset lead at the battery to prevent a fire risk if it shorts to ground.

The Voltphreaks battery actually lasts in a parked Porsche for most people about 2 weeks, so it won't require a battery tender. Though you can still use one. The VPH750 is comparable to an Odyssey PC925, not the PC680 or similar 15 pound or so lead-acid batteries that it replaces.

You get less capacity than stock with the Voltphreaks battery, but more capacity than typical lead-acid lightweight batteries. It's somewhere in-between.

Thanks for the suggestion regarding the reset lead, we'll look into it!

Here's a picture of the VPH750.

So does anyone know if the new Porsche Lithium battery is produced by Braille? They seem to have the same base but different uppers. The Braille battery is both more powerful and lighter than the Porsche battery.

The Braille battery is looking a little more attractive given power, weight saving, no mounting modification, and cheaper price than Porsche battery (last quote around $2,300 from parts if you didn't order with car).

9.5lb vs 13lb
90 v 60 LAH Lead-acid equivalent

Has anyone found a parts department pricing the Porsche battery closer to $1,700?
