Default Opinion on GT Metallic

I have never seen the GT Metallic paint in person. Is it worth the money??

Looking to spec a different looking car.

Looks amazing in sunlight, and suits the 911 shape really well. I would however suggest getting a bright colour since these cars are few and far between, might as well make them pop when the public gets to see one live. Some of the newer colours are also very cool if you want a metallic, like the aqua blue looks stunning in the pics.

The 997's Carrera Sport (XRR) wheels are painted GT Silver. That can give you an idea of the color.

I had GT Silver on my last car (996). It's stunning - a very rich silver with a bit of black in it, significantly darker than Arctic Silver for example. Whether it's worth an extra $3K is an individual choice...

Call me colorblind, but try as I might, I can't tell the difference between GT and Arctic silvers unless they are side-by-side. So I would say no.

I think GT silver looks nicer than Artic. Artic has a brown tinge to it. But I think most people can't tell the difference so probably not worth the price unless you really love it. Polar silver would be my favorite of the three.

I saw it on the new 997TT, had never seen it before, and I was impressed, it looks amazing!

Are you sure it isn't GT that has the brown tinge? It is often paired with Cocoa leather...

GT silver is a very, very nice colour but I'm not sure if it would look good on the .2 GT3 because of its curved rear wing.

Yes, if you ever see an Artic car against another silver you will notice it, especially next to Polar as you'll see the blue in that. Alone you really don't notice it so much. GT looks more like a pure silver or a more silvery silver.

sorry to all who choose silver but i call that "urban camoflauge". look around you at the sea of silver, black and white cars in any parking lot, any freeway etc., at the mall, picking out your car among a sea of silver...they are everywhere. my last 996 turbo was silver and unfortunately i got bored with the lack of color. the gt3, as one above pointed out, should pop out as a sports car. mho.

I've had both, and GT is a darker and deeper silver than Artic. Artic can look almost white in the bright sunlight, where the GT silver "pops" in the sunlight but looks more dull on dark days.

Both are great, but I prefer GT over Artic. It just had a deeper, richer look to it.
