Default What does Sport Chrono Package Plus do in a '10 RS?

Option 640- SportChrono Package Plus.

I see and read the verbiage in the Order Guide. But as best I can tell, all it adds is the "wart" and some PCM adjustments (wipers/lighting/blah blah)?

Why would it add a Sport Button in center console?

Does it offer different throttle mapping and/or a launch control?

I fully understand the benefits of Sport Chrono in a PDK car. But not in the RS.

Thanks for any insight!

It makes the car lighter by removing money from your wallet.

Default Chrono...

It's just a clock - hence certainly not required on GT3 or RS.

The "Sport" button is standard on both GT3 and RS...

It adds the sport button and remaps throttle settings (And, adds more w/PDK) on the Carreras. The GT3 has a sport button without optioning SC. SC does virtually nothing on a GT3, other than allowing for more fine tuning of locks, lights, etc...

As a 09 C4S PDK w/SC owner I fully understand (and love ) the benefits respective to that car.

But wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything in regards to it's relative lack of value in a '10 GT3RS. If I don't care about the wiper and headlight settings, and don't really want the wart, then I should not order it. If not an accurate summary, someone please advise...

Thanks!

I was advised by the dealer that as the RS already had the Sport Button as standard then the Sports Chrono option only added the integrated timing functionality which personally added no value to me. I also agree the 'wart' is unsightly.

Ok, I think we have a Sport Chrono knock-out by unanimous decision!

Wart avoidance plan remains in place...
