Default Local dealer call me to order my 2010 GT3RS

My local dealer call me with the list of options for the new gt3RS 2010. The build date is March 2010.

I appreciate your opinion about what options you may think are more desirable for this type of car. Below is my first round of options.

510-Contrasting color - Guard Red
A4-Exterior color - Gray black ($3,140)
810-Floor Mats ($90)
870-Universal audio interface ($95)
474-Front axle lifting system ($3,490)
509 - Fire extinguisher - ($140)
585-Cup Holder (0$))
XUB- Headlight cleaner cover in exterior color ($295)

I assume the wheel color and the side mirrors as well as the rear spoiler come as Porsche shows in their web site.

Thanks for your comments

Options

870-Universal audio interface ($95)
585-Cup Holder (0$))
XUB- Headlight cleaner cover in exterior color ($295)

are out of place on a track car aren't they?

If the car is used for what it's designed for, Option 474-Front axle lifting system ($3,490) is out of place and adds weight.

I suppose others will disagree.

P-L-E-A-S-E... The guy wants to plug in his i-Phone and hide the chrome washer covers. You were right about one thing: "Others will disagree".

I disagree.

My RS will see some street use, i got more "unnecessary" options than this.

Congrats to OP on RS.

I listen to my iPod as I drive to and from the track. What's wrong with that?

Probably this is the option I'm not 100% sure: Option 474-Front axle lifting system. You could buy 12 front lower replacements and still save some money and weight. However, it is nice if you can avoid scratching the lower front.

The car will spend 50% of the ime at the track and 50% on the street, some of the street options make sense for me.

^ Depends on your situation... cheaper than a new driveway for instance, if that is an issue, and adds about 13 pounds IIRC.

if i get an RS, i would have zero options.
but this is YOUR car, ANYTHING you want on the car is great. enjoy it. it's YOUR car.

i would like the front end lift system. but i wont get it b/c i really dont have the patience to wait for the front to lift. my garage door can be opened about 150 feet away.... why... b/c i dont like to slow down and wait for the damn door to open. i have driven my DD into the door to speed it opening up... so i really dont think i can wait the 5 seconds for front to lift. i much rather just rip the front lip off. but hey, it's not my car.

^Hmmm...

Type A Behavior

"Time Urgency and Impatience, as demonstrated by people who, among other things, get frustrated while waiting in line, walk or talk at a rapid pace, and are always painfully aware of the time and how little of it they have to spare.

Additionally, Type A behavior often includes:

Competitiveness
Strong Achievement-Orientation"

...Now we know why you are at home on a race track!

A PCA national instructor shall have plenty of patience prior to getting into a car and driving,
It is not difficult to WAIT for sometime rather than using the term S*^! quite frequently IMO.
As far as options I would suggest Aluminum foot rest and what about PCCB (will shave the added wt from the lift sys)

I'd add full leather. Looks far better than the standard trim and adds a nice amount of Alcanatra. Also, consider Bumperplugs for the headlight washer nipples. They are less than half of Porsche wants.

What he said.

PCCB is a no brainer (for all the reasons you should already know if you are buying an RS).

Congrats on the allocation!
