Ok, my next step is to try to reason with the factory in making some changes. I think I will have more success if I show them graphics of what I would like to do. Anyone who is good at photoshop want to take on a little project? It won't be hard. Anyone?

No more Clear Glass Tail Lights (XXG) option. Guess they've moved to aftermarket parts status for the dealers (based on Suncoast posting).

Not utterly impossible. Did it say this about the 997.1 RS for the USA order guide?

Presumably this is still a tentative guide and doesn't show the model number. Maybe someone with access to the PVA can check the details.

Why red belts, XSX, only for GT3 and stating "front and rear" while silver and yellow apply to the RS also? Bizarre. Presumably a QA/typo issue.

So one could order a "stripper" for $145K out the door, a "lightweight with PCCB" for $160K or go troppo with all the froufrou for about another $18K or basically $180K (all three having much the same resale value in two years.)

reference:

RS $132,800
B4 white $0
510 red stickers $0
810 floor mats $90
619 bluetooth $695
870 iPod $95
191 Li-Ion battery $1,700 (fark it)
450 PCCB $8,840
409 fire ex $140
600 lightweight headlights $0
346 wheels in silver $0

= $144,360
+ delivery?
+ guzzler?
10% sales tax
~ $160K

ouch.

Or ...
RS $132,800
B4 white $0
510 red stickers $0
600 lightweight headlights $0
346 wheels in silver $0
~$145K

Red belts are optional on the GT3 and standard on the RS, with silver and yellow optional on both.

"Front and rear" obviously a carryover from the standard Carrera guide.

Fire extinguisher is NOT an option on the RS according to the guide. I was perplexed by this.

I'm starting to think my Sharkwerks 3.9 conversion, which should be completed in the next week or so, is the deal of the century!!!

well, trust me you really dont want that FE from the factory.
the BK one is far better AND prettier.
easier to refill as well.
by the time you get the OEM bottle lose from the strap, you are probably as dead as charcoal. i have seen many OEM bottoms on track. it's a decoration.
