Thanks for your comments, which to a certain extent, I agree with. The detailing and minor restoration work is being done for "me". Sure it would be great to get these expenses back if I sell the car but I am doing it because that's the way I care for my cars. We all have our "buttons" and mine is preservation and authenticity and am willing to go to greater lengths to have my cars in either original or restored original condition.
I also think that while I may not recoup the cost of a $5K detail, the car is ceratinly in better shape than when I got, even after driving 1500 in southern CO/NM dust.
I think this would make a great thread, I dont know if its ever been discussed on Renllist as I've had hours of discussion on this with Eddy Fiuza from Passion from Detailing.

The money might have been better spent to put the ceramics back on, if originality was the objective.

Good point, if i was going to keep car long term that would be on list but steel brakes, in my opinion, provide a better driving experience than PCCB.

Maybe a lot of potential buyers are thinking the same way?

I completely appreciate where you are coming from on the buttons. So often people try to impose their values on other people and judge them wrong if they don't match up. It's kind of like the endless option debates we have on here. They are fun but then sometimes judgement comes into play and it gets ridiculous. If that's what you enjoy then that is what is key. Enjoy the cars as you wish and who ever buys this car will benefit with a clean one for sure!

I don't need an excuse. I just tell her it's inventory. FTW.
