Does anyone know what the order code for the thicker alcantara steering wheel is?

Not only did my alcatara wheel feel cheap compared to the thicker wheel on my 996 GT3, I could see wear starting in places. So I preferred the thicker wheel. the wheel on my new 997.2 is better feeling than the alcantara wheel.

found one, bummer doesn't look like it would be possible to reuse the
airbag from the current GT3 wheel ...

The configurator did to have a leather wheel option (841) @ $860. I just looked and it's gone, replaced with a no cost option. Does anyone know what is available? Suncoast had this one @ $500+.

If anyone wants a leather wheel, I've got one. The first owner of my car specced it with the leather wheel (reads as "Thicker Steering Wheel-Leather" on the window sticker) and I swapped it out for the alcantara one when I bought the car.

I test drove a 2010 gt3 today and i cant believe how much the stock wheel bothers me. The plastic part that intersects the wheel disrupts the excellent alcatara finish on the rest of the wheel.

Id vastly prefer the mk1 gt3 wheel.

I cant seem to find anything on the configurator though for the thicker alcatara steering wheel. I cant believe the price for it.. dam

Possibly not on the Configurator because, according to the Order Guide, option CLA will not be available until 01/2010.
